Why Wedding Venues Are Considered Agritourism in West Virginia

Many people are surprised to learn that the West Virginia Department of Agriculture recognizes wedding venues located on working farms as a form of agritourism. At Evermore Ridge, we are proud to be both a working Christmas tree farm and home to a flock of free ranging chickens, in addition to serving as a New River Gorge wedding venue.

The agritourism designation recognizes that farm-based wedding venues invite visitors to rural communities, where they often stay in local lodging, dine at area restaurants, visit parks and attractions, shop at small businesses, and explore everything the region has to offer. The economic impact extends far beyond the wedding venue itself, benefiting many local businesses and encouraging tourism throughout the community.

For many of our couples, their families and friends, a wedding at Evermore Ridge becomes more than a single day. It becomes a weekend experience that introduces their family and friends to the natural beauty, hospitality, and locally owned businesses that make southern West Virginia so special.

Supporting Local Makes Every Wedding Weekend Better

One of the things we love most about our community is the incredible network of locally owned businesses that help make every wedding weekend special. From family-owned restaurants, coffee shops, breweries, wineries, and lodging providers to photographers, florists, DJs, bakers, and rental companies, these West Virginia small businesses work together to create unforgettable celebrations.

When you choose a locally owned New River Gorge wedding venue like Evermore Ridge, you're also supporting a community of passionate small business owners who care deeply about every couple and every guest. We encourage you to explore, shop local, and experience everything our beautiful corner of West Virginia has to offer.
