It's hard to believe but autumn is only 40 days away. Fall weddings, specifically the month of October, has become the most popular month for weddings in the state of West Virginia. It's vivid colors and cool comfortable temperatures, create a stunning and cozy setting for a wedding. With fall fast approaching and many brides finalizing their wedding plans, I figured now is the ideal time to provide fall brides with some fall decor inspiration! So lets explore unique and affordable fall wedding decor ideas that will elevate the beauty of your Charleston, WV wedding venue.

Embrace the Colors of Fall

To capture the essence of fall, let the season's vibrant colors inspire your decor. Shades of deep oranges, dark reds, and neutrals can create a welcoming and cozy atmosphere. Considering using beige or black tablecloths and draping cheesecloth in your accent color across. Don't be afraid to mix shades and colors as long as they are within the same color palette. Colored or textured glassware can give your tables a more interesting appeal to the eyes of your guests. A warm table setting can transform your Charleston, WV venue into a cozy haven, inviting everyone to celebrate together.

Nature offers some of the best ideas for fall-themed wedding decor. Integrate items like pumpkins, gourds, branches and pinecones creatively:

  • Use small pumpkins or pinecones to accent your centerpieces, or place them along the path to our outdoor wedding ceremony site to guide guests to their seats.

  • For a playful touch, you can paint pumpkins to match your wedding colors or use delicate white pumpkins for a more elegant look.

  • Gather branches or twigs to create rustic arrangements that celebrate the season's beauty.

By incorporating the natural beauty of fall into your decor, you can effectively unify all the elements of your wedding..

Cozy Touches

Ensure your guests stay comfortable in the cool fall air. Incorporate cozy blankets, hand warmers or outdoor heaters (if allowed at your venue) during your ceremony and reception. At Evermore Ridge wedding venue, we provide outdoor propane patio heaters for use on our Sunset Patio if the temperature cools off during your cocktail hour or reception.

This is one of my favorite favor ideas for autumn weddings. Provide cozy blankets for guests to use and keep. This thoughtful gesture from the Black wedding featured a sign saying, "to have and to hold in case you get cold."

Candlelight Magic

Candlelight alone can create a magical atmosphere that enhances any wedding celebration. During fall weddings, it can be particularly aesthetically pleasing because the sun sets earlier, making candlelight more noticeable.

  • Use candles of various heights and sizes to create depth in your decor.

  • Place lanterns with candles in them around pathways or tables for a warm glow.

  • Use floating candles for a more elegant touch.

Creating that flickering ambiance can add to the overall charm of your Charleston WV venue, making the space feel intimate and inviting.

Flowers & Greenery

While all flowers bring beauty, seasonal blooms and blooms that include natural fall colors can enhance your autumn theme. Choosing in season flowers like dahlias, chrysanthemums, and sunflowers, which are all in season during fall can actually save you money on florals. Dried flowers or wooden flowers can also work wonders for rustic charm while being budget-friendly and long lasting.

Unique Signage

Adding personalized signage can give your wedding decor a distinct touch. Create signs that are beautiful, easy-to-read and properly guide guests throughout the venue. You can keep a minimalist approach or be more creative by using materials like wood, chalkboards, or mirrors. Add a touch of elegance by embellishing them with flowers and greenery that match the rest of your florals. Custom wedding signage not only makes your decor stand out but also improves guest navigation throughout your wedding day.
