Let our Charleston, WV wedding venue help provide you with some truly unique decor ideas that can give you the inspiration you're looking for! Here are 10 creative decor ideas from previous Evermore Ridge weddings that we love!

  1. Bookshelf Seating Chart

Are you a bride and/or groom that loves to read? Let this bookshelf seating chart from the Persinger wedding inspire you to incorporate your love for books into your wedding day! This concept not only serves a practical purpose but also reflects your love for literature. Each book can represent a table number and name of a guest at your reception.

There could be so many variations to this idea. This specific picture chose to keep it simple by having a classic black and color scheme and writing the names of each guest and table number on the spine of each book. You could change it up and choose a variety of books that resonate with you as a couple. You might choose books with titles that hold special memories, such as the first book you read together or a novel that reminds you of your relationship. You could make it interactive by including a small card or note that shares a brief story about why that particular book is meaningful to you in the front cover of each book.

Incorporating your love for books into your wedding day through a bookshelf seating chart can create a unique and memorable experience for both you and your guests. It allows you to share a piece of your identity and interests while celebrating the love you have for each other. So, let your imagination run wild, and allow the world of literature to inspire this unique idea in every aspect of your wedding day!

  1. Scrabble Centerpieces

If you love to play games together, this idea is perfect for you! Let your favorite games serve as a source of inspiration for your wedding. This unique idea allows you to infuse your shared interests and hobbies into one of the most significant days of your lives, making it not only memorable but also unique and personal to you!

The Slaughter wedding exemplifies this unique idea well by incorporating Scrabble into their centerpieces and sweetheart table. This couple took their passion for the classic word game and turned it into a charming theme that resonated throughout their celebration. From personalized Scrabble tiles that spelled out their last name in front of their sweetheart table to table centerpieces adorned with scrabble letters, every detail was thoughtfully designed to reflect their love for the game.

Allowing your favorite games to inspire your wedding can really bring a unique aspect that reflects your love and gives your wedding day character by sharing what you enjoy doing together. So, whether it's Scrabble or another beloved game, consider how you can incorporate elements of playfulness and joy into your wedding day.

  1. DIY Tables Numbers

Table numbers can often be an overlooked aspect of wedding decor, sometimes resulting in options that are not only expensive but also lack visual appeal. However, the Harvey wedding showcased a truly unique and stunning approach to creating table numbers that I am genuinely obsessed with. Instead of opting for the standard, mass-produced options typically available online, they decided to think outside the box and embrace a more creative solution.

With a quick trip to Lowes, they purchased chunks of travertine, a beautiful natural stone known for its earthy tones and textured surface. The couple then took these pieces and, with a bit of ingenuity, broke them up using a hammer, transforming the stone into a unique and artistic element for their reception tables. After breaking the travertine into various sizes and shapes, they glued the pieces together to create a base and backing for each table number. Lastly, they ordered elegant metal numbers that would stand out against the natural stone, providing a beautiful contrast that was both modern and sophisticated. The combination of the earthy travertine and the sleek metal numbers elevated the overall appearance of their centerpieces while also being extremely functional.

The Harvey wedding's table numbers exemplified how thoughtful and creative choices can transform even the simplest details into stunning focal points that enhance the beauty and uniqueness of a wedding celebration.

  1. Including Your Charleston, WV Wedding Venue in Your Details

The Thompson wedding found a unique way to incorporate their choice of Charleston, WV wedding venue into their invites, programs, and wedding favors. This thoughtful design choice not only enhanced the aesthetic appeal of the wedding materials but also created a seamless connection between the various elements of their wedding day. By reflecting our venue's unique outdoor ceremony site with the silhouette of our ceremony arch, the couple was able to weave a narrative that resonated with their guests from the moment they received their invitations.

This small, but unique detail extended beyond the invites to the wedding programs and favors too! These favors taken home by guests, not only served as tokens of appreciation, but also as mementos that would remind guests of the beautiful day they shared at our venue's unique outdoor ceremony site.

The Thompsons' innovative approach to integrating our wedding venue into these aspects of their wedding materials not only elevated the overall aesthetic but also created a cohesive and memorable experience for their guests.

  1. Favors with Family Meaning

At the Macioce wedding, the couple had a thoughtful and unique idea to incorporate meaningful favors that beautifully represented the groom's Italian family heritage, enhancing the overall significance of the favors. As guests took their seats at the elegant tables, they found each plate carefully arranged with a small favor that included a note that said: "An Italian wedding tradition. Five sugared almonds for each guest to eat. To remind us that life is both bitter & sweet. Five wishes for the new husband & wife ~ Health, Wealth, Happiness, Family and a Long Life!"

The tradition involves presenting each guest with five sugared almonds, a gesture that carries profound meaning. The almonds are not only a delightful treat but also serve as a reminder that life encompasses a spectrum of experiences, both bitter and sweet. The contrasting flavors of the sugared almonds encapsulate the essence of life's journey, emphasizing that joy and sorrow often coexist, shaping our experiences and memories.

By choosing to include these traditional favors at their wedding, the Macioce couple not only honored their heritage but also created an opportunity for their guests to reflect on the deeper meanings behind their marriage. Each guest left with not just a sweet treat but also a tangible reminder of the couple's hopes and dreams for their future together, making the occasion even more memorable and meaningful.

6. Stunning & Huge Last Name Florals

The Black wedding featured a stunning and unique element that truly set it apart from any other wedding we have previously had at our Charleston, West Virginia wedding venue. One of the most striking aspects was the elaborate display of huge florals that elegantly spelled out their last name. This eye-catching installation was not just a unique decoration; it was a breathtaking piece that drew the attention of all the guests as they walked towards our outdoor ceremony location.

The florals were meticulously arranged, showcasing a vibrant array of colors that complemented the overall color theme of the wedding. The Black wedding's floral display was a remarkable highlight that showcased not only aesthetic beauty but also the couple's individuality. It was an unforgettable element that will be forever etched in my memory as a symbol of a truly special day.

7. Dedicate Your Bar Decor & Signage to Your Pets

A fun and unique way to incorporate your lovable fur babies into your wedding celebration is through decor and signage, particularly at your bar. By integrating elements that reflect your furry friends, you can create a warm and inviting atmosphere that showcases your love for them.

For example, the Parker wedding named their signature cocktails after their beloved cats. This thoughtful gesture transformed the drink menu into a charming homage to their feline companions, making the cocktails more than just beverages; they became a part of the couple's narrative. To enhance the bar experience, the Parkers included cute drink stirrers featuring adorable photos of their cats' faces. These custom stirrers not only added a playful element to the cocktails but also served as a delightful keepsake for guests.

Incorporating your pets into your wedding decor, particularly at the bar, can create a charming and personalized experience for you and your guests. The Parker wedding exemplifies how naming signature cocktails after your beloved fur babies and using themed decor in their honor, can make it a truly unique and memorable bar experience. By embracing your love for your fur babies in such creative ways, you can ensure that your wedding day is filled with joy, laughter, and cherished memories that reflect your unique love!

8. Neon Sign? I Think Not

Everyone loves a beautiful neon sign, with its eye-catching glow that can instantly elevate any setting. Neon signs have become a popular trend in recent years, particularly in the realm of weddings, where they add a modern touch. At Evermore Ridge wedding venue, nearly every wedding has featured a neon sign, creating a lively and celebratory atmosphere. However, the Nichols wedding took a delightful twist on this trend, opting for something that would not only serve as a beautiful decoration during the wedding reception but also serve as unique home decor long after the wedding day.

This charming custom signage was made of wood and paired with elegant lettering creating a warm and inviting focal point that drew the attention of guests, enhancing the overall aesthetic of their sweetheart table. What makes this choice particularly special is the dual purpose of the sign. Long after the wedding has concluded, this exquisite piece of wedding decor can continue to hold significance in the couple's home.

The Nichols' decision to use a custom wooden sign instead of the typical neon option showcases their creativity and desire to create a lasting symbol of their union. As weddings evolve, consider selecting items that resonate with you personally, and ideally, opt for decor that can be enjoyed for many years ahead!

  1. An Alternative to a Sparkler Exit

Everyone loves a sparkler exit. At Evermore Ridge wedding venue, it's a sight that has become almost iconic, with approximately 90% of the weddings concluding with the dazzling display of twinkling sparklers. This enchanting farewell creates a magical atmosphere, as the couple makes their grand exit amid a flurry of golden sparks.

However, the Macioce wedding took a refreshing and imaginative approach by opting for a glowing streamer exit instead. This decision not only distinguished their celebration from the traditional sparkler send-off but also made it much simpler to organize since there was no need to light over 100 sparklers simultaneously.

Moreover, the Macioce couple's decision to go with glowing streamers proved to be fortuitous, as they were faced with unexpected rain on their wedding day. The weather can often be unpredictable, and many couples find themselves having to adjust their plans at the last minute. In this case, if they had chosen the traditional sparkler exit, the rain would have rendered that option completely unfeasible, as wet conditions would have made it impossible to light sparklers. Instead, their innovative choice allowed them to maintain the celebratory spirit of their exit without being hindered by the weather.

  1. Decor That Doubles as Favors

Ferns have surged in popularity over the years and have become one of the most beloved household plants. Their lush, green foliage adds a touch of elegance and tranquility to any space, making them a perfect addition to a home. This combination of beauty and practicality makes ferns an ideal gift that your guests can enjoy long after the event has concluded.

A wonderful example of incorporating ferns into wedding decor can be seen in the Pridemore wedding. This celebration beautifully showcased ferns as part of their stunning ceremony site decor. The lush greenery created a serene and romantic atmosphere, enhancing the overall aesthetic of this stunning wedding.

As part of the thoughtful gesture, the Pridemore wedding allowed family and friends to take home a fern as a gift. This allowed guests to leave with a tangible piece of the celebration. Each time they tend to their plant, they will be reminded of the love and happiness shared during the Pridemore wedding, creating lasting memories.
